On Saturday 8th June three Year 9 pupils Adam, Demma and Tommy graduated from the two year Sutton Scholars programme at the University of Warwick.
Throughout the past two years the pupils have attended Saturday sessions and residentials as part of the programme. On the campus days they have been working with their groups. This year they have learnt about, researched and presented a project on Global Sustainable Development with support from staff and current university students in the Global Sustainable Development department. Every group has had a student mentor who is a current Warwick Student to support them throughout the project.
In addition to the project work the campus days have provided and insight into university life with campus tours and regular taster sessions from a variety of university clubs and societies.
The next applications for the Sutton Scholars Programme will be for Year 8 pupils in September 2019.
