UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge

Congratulations to 60 pupils in Year 9 and 10 who took part in the recent UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge at the beginning of February. The Intermediate Mathematical Challenge is a 60-minute, multiple-choice competition aimed at pupils across the UK. It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. The problems on the Intermediate Mathematical Challenge are designed to make pupils think. Most are accessible, yet still challenge those with more experience. 10 pupils received Bronze awards, 3 achieved silver awards and 1 achieved a Gold. Leah Foster who received the Gold has also be invited to take part in the next round the Pink Kangaroo Challenge on Thursday 19th March.

The Junior Maths Challenge for pupils in Years 7 and 8 will be held in school on Thursday 30th April.
