We offer all pupils the opportunity to enrol for instrumental or singing lessons in weekly group sessions led by a Warwickshire Music teacher.
Warwickshire Music will provide a free instrument for the first year for all pupils (subject to availability).
Learning to play a musical instrument or learning to sing could be the beginning of a lifelong hobby or career. Music and playing can “improve academic attainment in areas such as numeracy, literacy and language” (Henley Review 2011) and help develop social skills, concentration, self-discipline and self-esteem. Above all else it is a highly rewarding activity and great fun.
We are able to offer a range of instruments and lessons. The lessons available are:
Violin, Cello, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Keyboard, Guitar, Drum and Singing
Pupils can choose from an individual or group lesson. The lessons will be timetabled during the school day in the Music practice rooms.
Individual lessons are 20 minutes at a cost of £140 per term
Group lessons are 30 minutes at a cost of £70 per term.
Subsidies are available for pupils in receipt of Free School Meals. Warwickshire Music will also provide a free instrument for the first year and beyond for pupils in receipt of Free School Meals (subject to availability).
Lessons can be paid for on Parent Pay, by cash or by cheque (made payable to The Midland Academies Trust). Payment is due on the first day of each School Term.
if you would like your child to take advantage of the lessons offered by Warwickshire Music then please download the letter above or collect a hard copy of the letter from reception. Please return the reply slip below to Miss L Taylor via reception as soon as possible. Lessons are subject to availability. If we are able to offer your chosen lesson you will receive a letter including the Music Lessons Contract and details for arranging the delivery of your free instrument hire. In the unlikely event that we are not able to offer your chosen option we will contact you to discuss alternatives. Lessons are booked on a termly basis so pupils may need to wait until the start of the next term to begin their lessons however we aim to begin lessons as quickly as possible after a pupil has decided they wish to start.
